Ivy is an on-chain crowdfunding platform for climate projects, connecting early-stage carbon offset projects such as reforestation, afforestation, and direct air-capturing projects with resources worldwide. Main Responsibilities:

As the Head of Engineering of Ivy, you will be responsible for building and designing the architecture of our product. You will work directly with the CEO, CPO, and other co-founders to set the technology vision and priorities for the company. You will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and designers to build and iterate on the product. In addition, you will work with external Industry-leading partners and vendors to ensure that Ivy’s technology stack is robust and scalable.

  • Design, shape and oversee Ivy’s software architecture.
  • Build MVP and re-iterate upon the product.
  • Hire and build out a kickass dev/product team alongside the founders.
  • Directly work with the biggest partner in the space to shape an industry standard for the on-chain carbon economy.
  • Oversee and ensure that the software engineering team has adequate resources and is able to hit their targets.
  • Understand the competitive landscape and how Ivy's technology can be best leveraged.
  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in the blockchain space and identify potential partnerships or collaborations.
  • Take the initiative in thought leadership, innovation and creativity.


Qualifications:

Must have:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a senior technical role or previous experience as a CTO as well as experience building a product from scratch.
  • Strong experience and/or curiosity with blockchain development, including experience with Ethereum, Solidity, and smart contracts.
  • Exposure to/experience with React & NextJS.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with non-technical team members and explain complex concepts in simple terms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience leading and managing a team of developers.
  • Ability to identify and assess new business opportunities and technologies.
  • Capability to audit code and identify potential risks.


Nice to have:

  • Master/ PhD in Computer Science or other relevant postgraduate degrees.
  • Experience with fundraising, business development, and project management.
  • Understanding or having previously worked in the voluntary carbon offset market is a HUGE plus.
  • Multi-lingual is always a plus!
  • Based in Berlin, Germany or willing to relocate.
