dClimate is a decentralized climate data ecosystem that currently includes a Climate Data Marketplace, a Carbon Offset Portal (CO2.0), and a nascent incentivized IoT sensor network to map ground truth while laying the foundation for a DIY climate community.
Our marketplace is where climate data, models, and forecasts are standardized, monetized, and distributed in order to improve accessibility along with interoperability of climate data which we ultimately hope will be a Schelling point for climate data aggregation.
We are a small team committed to educating others on the importance of having an immutable climate data record on the blockchain that anyone can access, all while contributing to the thriving web3 ecosystem and helping it flourish.
Easy to access data means better planning from small-town farmers to governments. Better planning allows for decision-making that makes a material impact on both individuals and the world.
Farmers can use this data to hedge against climate change catastrophe, construction companies can better predict when to have workers onsite, governments can focus on areas for climate impact mitigation, and academics/startups can use this information to lead to more accurate discoveries along with new business cases.
Additionally, the work we are doing with CO2.0 will prevent deforestation and provide individuals a way to directly offset their carbon impact.
